Summary: In today’s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) deployments, multiple service providers operate AMRs in the same facilities and public spaces. Without a common identification framework, provider-neutral identifier scheme and exchange procedures, AMRs and related infrastructure are difficult to reliably identify each other. The common identification framework support maintaining a registry of robot information and enable interworking with user devices, urban infrastructures and other mobile robots across service providers, not only delivery services but also for other applications such as patrol, cleaning. This draft Supplement defines that identification framework for AMR services, based on the requirements of ITU-T Y.4607.
