Summary: Power grid digital twin system plays a crucial role in modernizing power grids, especially in smart cities and communities. However, the construction of power grid digital twin system requires digital twin representation model to be the unified data foundation, because the digital twin representation model constitutes the authoritative source-data files of power grid entities. The digital twin representation model of power grid is not only a digital mirror of the physical power grid, but also a core data carrier running through the entire lifecycle of preliminary design, construction and completion. Taking generation, transformer substations, overhead power lines, and cable lines as the core objects, the structure of the power grid digital twin representation model is constructed through a physical-geospatial-topological three-element framework. Standardizing the requirements of digital twin representation model can realize the unification of data formats and mutual recognition of engineering information across all phases. This draft Recommendation addresses the essential requirements of digital twin representation model for power grid, including general requirements, model depth requirements, model accuracy requirements, model collaboration requirements, and model interface requirements.
