Summary: As an important research direction for future network architecture, the Information-Centric Network (ICN) has undergone long-term exploration. In this system, all resources such as data, functions, services, and facilities are standardized and marked with unique identifiers (IDs) [ITU-T Y.3033]. This design concept focus on "information identity" fundamentally breaks through the addressing mode of traditional networks that relies on the geographical location of devices (such as IP addresses). With the rise of emerging technologies such as edge computing and artificial intelligence, the demand for computing resources access has further escalated. For example, edge computing requires efficient scheduling of edge computing resources to achieve low-latency processing, while artificial intelligence needs to ensure efficient aggregation and accurate transmission of multi-source heterogeneous data. At the same time, the increasing dynamism of services imposes higher requirements on the network's real-time perception and adaptive adjustment capabilities, which the existing architecture can hardly meet. Therefore, against the backdrop of explosive growth in computing resources driven by edge computing and AI, the limitations of traditional ICN architectures have become a critical bottleneck hindering the evolution of future networks. This proposal dissects the core challenges in computing resources access and demonstrates the technical imperative and implementation pathways for ICN enhancements. This effort aims to foster the development of efficient, secure, and scalable future information infrastructure.
