Summary:

With the rapid development of AI technology, the application of AI has rapidly become popular, especially model training and inference. In this context, access network that connects users with computing centers for model training has become an increasingly important infrastructure for providing network access services to users.
Recommendation ITU-T Y.2301 specifies the requirements and capabilities of network intelligence capability enhancement (NICE), an enhancement for NGNs supporting some intelligence capabilities for the provisioning of services according to the requirements of users and application providers. While targeting new business needs such as model training and inference, ITU-T Y.2301 does not cover access network from users to computing centers in NICE to support model training. This Recommendation proposes a detailed description of access network based on the framework of NICE to support model training and inference, providing flexible on-demand network access services for users and achieving efficient data transmission through access and transport network of NICE.
