Summary: The Intelligent Edge Computing (IEC) architecture is a well-defined cloud infrastructure to provide intelligence to the edge network for efficient data processing within the network. ITU-T Q.5001 defines signalling messages for network functions and intelligent data processing on the defined reference points. ITU-T Q.5007 specifies the microservice-based IEC architecture to build an applicable IEC that can be deployed in real-world applications such as smart home, smart factory, smart city, etc. ITU-T Q.5008 specifies the AI and machine learning technologies at IEC. ITU-T Q.5011 specifies signalling requirements and interfaces of edge-aided energy management agent (EEMA) to support AI based energy management and demand response services. EEMA enables AI-based energy management and demand response services to the energy system– which enables to build integrations quickly, with AI capabilities and with high quality data security and compliance at IEC. Evolving requirements of microservice based intelligent edge computing must enable to incorporate to EEMA as a collection of loosely coupled microservices including data sources and control units. This proposed draft Recommendation is going to specify the life cycle management of EEMA with intelligent edge computing, like orchestration and monitoring management of individual microservices. The EEMA manager, incorporated with the orchestration management entity (OME) specified in ITU-T Q.5007, handles these corresponding works, which are key enablers for the implementation and management of the EEMA instances. This contribution particularly specifies life cycle management interface of EEMAs and APIs for creating a new EEMA instance, modifying an existing EEMA instance, deactivating an existing EEMA instance, and terminating an existing EEMA instance.
