Summary: Digital twin technology has gained extensive application across various industries such as smart cities, intelligent transportation, smart firefighting, and so on. This innovative technology integrates the physical world with the virtual one by using three-dimensional (3D) visualization technology to create a high-precision digital model that enable real-time monitoring, prediction, and maintenance of these assets or processes. 3D visualization technology is one of the core technologies of the digital twin system. Via this technology, the entities or processes in the physical city can be converted into 3D models in virtual city and presented in a more intuitive manner. To achieve visualization in digital twin systems, especially for scenarios with high-fidelity requirements in smart city, a dedicated digital twin visualization system is typically needed to leverage 3D visualization technology for rendering and interaction. This draft Recommendation is to define functional architecture of visualization system in digital twin for SSC&C.
