Summary: Self-organization networking refers to autonomous networking established by individual IoT devices that effectively interact with their peers and perform self-control. In IoT environments, self‑organization networking is required when the heterogeneous devices belong to infrastructure‑unsupported IoT area networks. Draft Recommendation ITU-T Y.4417 specifies a framework of self‑organization networking for IoT in a particular area of telecommunications. The draft Recommendation presents the concepts, characteristics, architecture, requirements, and functionalities of self-organization networking.
