Summary: RTPS, which refers to roadside traffic perception system, is a system composed of IoT infrastructures, including sensing devices, cloud facilities, intelligent traffic lights and smart traffic signs. By utilizing IoT technologies, RTPS can enhance traffic safety and efficiency with capabilities of its components. To achieve efficient traffic perception, processing and information provision, IoT infrastructures in roadside traffic perception system (RTPS) need to collaborate with each other using IoT technologies. Therefore, common and specific requirements and capabilities for IoT infrastructures are described in this recommendation. Use cases of IoT infrastructures in RTPS are also given.
