Summary:

This draft Recommendation proposes an updated draft text on the durability of mobile telecommunication terminals in different dimensions. At the same time, the specific indicators of durability evaluation of mobile telecommunication terminals are also proposed.
The EN 45552 (2020) and EN 45553 (2020) standards serve as comprehensive methodologies for assessing the durability and manufacturing capability of energy-related products, respectively. These standards have a broader scope and are considered universal benchmarks. On the other hand, ITU-T L.1023 (2020) focuses on an assessment method for circularity scoring of information and communication technology (ICT) goods, employing different assessment dimensions compared to this recommendation. This recommendation focuses specifically on evaluating the durability of mobile telecommunication terminal products throughout their entire life cycle, encompassing measures to enhance product durability during design, production, usage, and recycling stages. Furthermore, it addresses aspects such as environmental applicability, design maintainability, recycling and reuse practices, system management and key information handling in order to evaluate the durability level of mobile telecommunication terminal products from multiple perspectives including enterprise practices. The assessment content is durability to align with specific product characteristics and offers greater detail than general international standards in order to meet industry-specific requirements for sustainable development.
