Summary: The Internet is becoming ubiquitous, and the complexity of traffic carried over the telecommunication networks is increasing. We can obtain large amounts of traffic data based Deep Packet Inspection and operation data from the telecommunication network management or operation entity, how to use these data to obtain useful information, thus to improve the traffic and network management process is the problem that the operators need to consider. Currently, Big data technology is attracting a great deal of attention in various fields around the world. The big data technology will be effective in handling traffic and network's complexities, this recommendation proposes to study the applications of big data analytics technologies for networking architecture in future networks. The big data driven networking solves this problem by decoupling complex data computing and processing functionalities from the network control and management plane, and converging into a big data plane. Such kind of big-data plane can fulfil smart network management, operation, perform versatile application support, and improve user QoE by applying big-data technologies to massive data in the future network. Moreover, the adoption of such big-data plane would decrease the complexity of network plane and management plane, which in return, would facility smart management, elastic expansion and easy adaptation to emerging business requirement in the future network. This recommendation will specify the overview of big data driven networking, and specify the model architecture of big data driven networking, and specify the high level capability of big data driven networking based on DPI.
