Summary:
|
In the traditional mode, the broadband network gateway address resource is manually configured. With the IPv4 address shortage of operators, the IPv4 address pool has been very fragmented (usually / 23/24 size), each BNG need to be configured in a number of address pools to meet the broadband users demands.
In the scenario of multi-domain, it is very complicated to configure and maintain ip address on the broadband network gateways. For example, It is required to configure IPv4 ,IPv6 and NAT address pool respectively.
With the change of the number of users or volume of traffic , it is required to automatically maintain and dynamically adjust IP address pool in the existing network. It will be more complicated to implement adjustment of ip address pool resource by manual configuration.
So it is necessary to study the signalling requirements of IP address pool on broadband network gateway to implement the automatic management ip address resource. The signalling will cover ip address pool resource distribution, monitor and recycle, etc.
