Understanding the role that information and communication technologies (ICTs) are playing in the transition to the green economy and sustainable development pathways is understanding our modern, fast moving and technology driven world.
Broadband networks are a basic infrastructure of modern society just like roads, electricity and water. They are a platform for development, promoting social progress, poverty eradication and overall human well-being. After all, it is very important to realize that broadband is not an end in itself, but a platform of progress towards Information and Knowledge Societies that are efficient, inclusive and built on sustainability principles.
