Privacy concerns are increasingly important in the online world. Adoption of privacy-enabling technologies to support the secure processing of personal data in the cloud will depend upon the existence of uniform ways of handling personal data at the international level and on technical standards which can help demonstrate compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
