​​​​JCA-MV is coordinating ITU-T metaverse standardization work and is fostering collaboration across all relevant study groups within ITU-T, while providing a visible contact point and coordinating communication with external standards development organizations, consortia and forums working on metaverse-related standards, enabling effective two-way communications with these bodies.​

The JCA-MV was created in May 2025 and reports to TSAG.

The JCA-MV operates under the terms of Recommendation ITU-T A.18 and was established in accordance with WTSA-24 Resolution 105 “Metaverse standardization”.​
