Ben Combes
Assistant Director, PwC & Senior Economist, Sustainability & Climate Change

Ben Combes is an Assistant Director at PwC and a Senior Economist in the Sustainability & Climate Change team. He is co-founder of PwC UK’s Innovation & Sustainability practice, working on tech for good projects, including AI for Earth with Microsoft and 4IR for the Global Goals with the World Economic Forum. He is also an expert adviser to PwC UK’s Net Zero leadership team and works with clients on climate tech and their net zero transformation strategies.  Outside PwC, Ben is an Advisory Board Member to the UK Parliament's All-Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group, a member of techUK’s Climate Strategy and Resilience Council, and a Visiting Senior Fellow of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics. Ben holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
Annik Magerholm Fet
Vice Rector, NTNU

​Dr. Annik Magerholm Fet is the Vice Rector of NTNU in Ålesund and a professor in Sustainability. Professor Fet leads several national and international research projects in capacity building in global production, environmental management, life cycle assessment, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and business models for sustainability. These projects operate in the junction between academia, industry and public authorities with the goal to move towards more systemic sustainable practices in the society.
She has been the Norwegian observer in the UN International Resource Panel (UN IRP), and sits on the board of UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Northern Europe (SDSN NE).
Salvatore Giacomuzzi
Professor, University of Sopron /University of Poltava/ University of Lviv/ and European Institute for Education Transformation Processes

Salvatore Giacomuzzi holds a doctor degree in physics and psychology. He is also a professor of psychology at the university.
Furthermore, he is also head of the Centre for Behavioural Economics at the Korolenko University Poltava and of the European Institute for Education Transformation Processes. He is a distinguished expert in predicting human behaviour and has been working in this field for many years. This also in the forensic context. At the same time, he is a consultant for the automobile industry, where he works on the optimisation of psychological requirements in various work processes. He is author of many scientific articles and books and teaches at various universities in an international field.
Bilel Jamoussi
Chief of Study Group Department, TSB, ITU

Tunisian born, Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department of ITU Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland. Since 2010, he has been leading the bureau’s standards making activities into a new era characterized by rapid convergence and the need for increased collaboration with vertical sectors and partnership between developed and developing countries. Prior to 2010, Jamoussi worked for a Telecommunication equipment and solutions provider for 15 years in Canada and then in the United States where he held several leadership positions and was granted 22 US patents in diverse areas including packet, optical, wireless, and quality of service. He holds a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English and speaks some Spanish and German.
Sasha Luccioni
 Postdoctoral Researcher, Mila

Sasha Luccioni is a Postdoctoral Researcher working with Yoshua Bengio on climate change-related initiatives at Mila, including projects that aim to estimate the environmental impact of Machine Learning and to visualize the future impacts of climate change using generative networks. Her work sits at the intersection of AI and the environment, and her goal is to find ways to maximize the positive impacts of AI while minimizing the negative ones, be it from a research or application perspective. Her work has been featured in news and media outlets such as MIT Technology Review, WIRED and the Wall Street Journal, among others, both my projects on the environmental impact of AI and those on how to reduce it. She is also a 2020 National Geographic Explorer and holds an IVADO postdoctoral fellowship.
Paolo Gemma
Chairman, Focus Group on on Environmental Efficiency for Artificial Intelligence and other Emerging Technologies (FG-AI4EE), ITU/ Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., China  

Paolo Gemma is a senior specialist and representative of Huawei on issues related to energy saving and environmental sustainability.
Prior to joining Huawei, Dr. Gemma was working with Nokia Siemens Networks, where he was responsible for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and electrical safety areas. He also worked in the Siemens Communications Division. Dr. Paolo Gemma also plays an active role in international standardization activities. Since 1993, he has been engaged in ETSI (European Telecommunication Standard Institute) activities and he also participates in the development of EMC standards. In 1997, Dr. Gemma joined ITU-T Study Group 5 on Environment, Climate Change and Circular Economy as a Rapporteur and he is now the Chairman of Working Party 2 “Environment, Energy Efficiency and the Circular Economy”. He also acts as Vice-chairmen of the United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC) initiative. In 2002, Paolo Gemma was appointed as the Secretary of the Committee ETSI TC EE and as of 2009 he holds the position of Chairman of the EEPS EE (eco Environmental product standard) working group. Paolo Gemma is a graduate in electrical engineering from the University of Genoa.
Stefano Nativi
Big Data Lead Scientist, Joint Research Centre, European Commission

Stefano NATIVI is the Big Data Lead Scientist of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. His present research activity deals with the Digital Transformation of our Society and AI. For more than 10 years, he has served as Head of Unit for the National Research Council of Italy, coordinating several international research activities (funded by EC, ESA, and US NSF) on Data Science and Digital Technology applications. He funded and chaired the Earth and Space Sciences Informatics (ESSI) Division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU). He is member of the Council of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE). He was Scientific and Programme Chair of the 2019 International Symposium on Digital Earth. He is co-chair of the GEOSS Development Task Team of Group on Earth Observation (GEO). He also served as co-chair of the Scientific and Technology Committee of GEO. He was professor at the University of Padua (IT), University of Florence (IT) and Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (DE). He is co-chair of the OGC Earth System Sciences Domain Working Group of OGC and of the OGC netCDF Standardization Working Group.He received, in 2019, the EGU Ian McHarg medal; in 2014, the Geospatial Innovation Award for "Technology Innovation in Interoperability" by the Geospatial World Forum; and in 2009 the Meritorious Service Medal by the IEEE Committee on Earth Observation (ICEO). In 2019, he also received an appreciation award from ISDE, for the scientific and program chairing of ISDE11.
Neil Sahota
IBM Master Invento​​r and World Wide Business Development Leader, IBM Watson Group

Neil Sahota (萨冠军) is an IBM Master Inventor and World Wide Business Development Leader in the IBM Watson Group. With 15+ years of business experience, he works with clients and business partners to create next generation products/solutions powered by Watson. Prior to this role, he was a Thought Leader Consultant and Practice Leader in IBM Global Business Services where he was responsible for the sales and delivery of complex consulting engagements spanning business strategy, new product development, revenue optimization, process improvement, and business and system integration. His work experience spans multiple industries including healthcare, life sciences, retail, travel and transportation, energy and utilities, automotive, telecommunications, media/communication, and government. Moreover, Neil is one of the few IBMers selected for IBM's Corporate Service Corps leadership program that pairs leaders with NGOs to perform community driven economic development projects. For his assignment, Neil lived and worked in Ningbo, China where he partnered with Chinese corporate CEOs to create a leadership development program. He also actively volunteers with nonprofits for event management, fund raising, grant reviews, and site visits. Neil is an active member of the UCI Alumni Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Marathon, supporting their work with the OC Kids program in fighting childhood obesity.​​
Ying Shi
Senior Expert, China Telecom Research Institute

Ying Shi is a senior expert of China Telecom Research Institute. Ying is heavily engaged in international standardization activities. She is currently Co-Chair of ITU Focus Group AI4EE WG3, Implementation of AI and Emerging Technologies for Environmental Efficiency. She also serves as Vice-Chair of Electromagnetic Environment & Protection Technical Committee of China Communications Standardization Association, which focuses on EMC and environmental issues. Ying leads several research projects on improvement of environment efficiency of 5G network by application of AI. She also works with the team to help China Telecom to develop a climate action roadmap, in order to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050.
Luca Valcarenghi
​Associate Professor, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Italy

Luca Valcarenghi holds a Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering 1997) from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering (1999), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering-Telecommunications (2001) both from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Between January 2002 and August 2002 he was Research Associate of the Optical Networking Advanced Research (OpNeAR) Lab of the University of Texas at Dallas Erik Jonsson School of EE/CS. From September 2002 until December 2014 he was Assistant Professor at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa, Italy where is currently an Associate Professor. He  advised several Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. students and he is currently teaching courses on optical network design, network simulations, and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for communications network prototyping. Dr. Valcarenghi main research interests are optical networks design, analysis, and optimization; communication networks reliability; energy efficiency in communications networks; optical access networks; zero touch network and service management; experiential networked intelligence; 5G technologies and beyond. He published almost three hundred papers (source Google Scholar, Dec. 1, 2020) in International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He totalized 3165 citations with an h-index of 27 (source Google Scholar, Dec. 1, 2020).
