BAAH-ACHEAMFUOR Kwame

Baah-Acheamfuor.jpgKwame is the current Chairman of ITU-T Study Group 12 responsible for Performance, Quality of Service and Quality of Experience.

Kwame Baah-Acheamfuor is a telecommunications engineer and has been involved in multi discipline communication services licensing, telecommunication networks planning, operations and maintenance for 14 years. He joined the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Ghana in 2006 and has been responsible for technical regulations planning, monitoring and compliance. He also doubles as the Technical Advisor to the International Incoming Traffic Verification Project (IITVP) in Ghana, a position he has held since 2009.

Before joining the NCA, Kwame worked for Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (GT), now Vodafone Ghana as an RF Network Planner and Optimisation Engineer and also in various capacities as Switching and Transmission Operations & Maintenance Engineer.

Kwame Baah-Acheamfuor holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (Project Management) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Majors in Telecommunications and Electronics) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Kwame Baah-Acheamfuor was Chairman of ITU-T SG12 Regional Group for Africa (SG12-RG-AFR) from 2011 to 2012 and also the Editor of ITU-T Recommendation E803 “Quality of Service Parameters for Supporting Service Aspects”. Over the last decade, he has been actively involved in quality of service issues and has been instrumental in the recent work items at the ITU-T addressing the quality of service as well as quality of experience challenges especially in developing countries.
