Dongxiao LI is Lecturer at the College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University. She was awared a Ph.D. in Communication from Zhejiang University in 2010. having done research for her dissertation as a Fulbright Scholar at both George Washington University and Texas University in Austin in 2009-10. Her research interests include media sociology and barrier-free communication (media accessibility). She has published a book entitled See Hear: Audio-visual Media For All and more than twenty journal articles. She has received funding for some of her research projects from the Chinese Educational Department and the government of Zhejiang Province. On December 9, 2012, the 1st International Workshop of Barrier-Free Communication initiated by Dr. Li was held successfully at Zhejiang University.
