Ghiyaz is a manager in MicroSave’s Digital Financial Services (DFS) domain. He has worked in various projects with banks, mobile network operators, government institutions and MFIs in India, Nepal, the Philippines, Kenya and Indonesia.
His area of expertise include DFS strategy, G2P payments, market research to understand customers’ needs, concept testing, product development, costing and pricing of financial products, field assessments, and monitoring and control systems.
Currently he is based in Indonesia with special focus on financial inclusion/DFS related initiatives. He has worked with regulators, banks, financial institutions and telecom companies in Indonesia on topics such as mobile financial services ecosystem assessment, risk management and agency channel strategy. He is the author of Agent Network Accelerator Research: Indonesia Country Report, 2014 – which is a diagnostic report on the DFS/mobile money landscape in Indonesia. He is also an expert faculty at the Helix Institute of Digital Finance set up in partnership with MicroSave, IFC, UNCDF and Gates Foundation.
