Mongolia National Training Workshop on ICT Statistics

​A National Training Workshop on ICT Statistics hold in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 22 to 24 May 2017. The workshop organized by the Communications and Information Technology Authority (CITA) and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The workshop opened to representatives and experts from various government agencies involved in collecting ICT-related statistics, including the National Statistics Office of Mongolia, Communications and Information Technology Authority (CITA), Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) as well as telecommunication operators and service providers.

The objective of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of the country to produce internationally comparable and quality statistics and indicators on telecommunications and ICTs. The workshop included presentations and discussions covering the ITU indicators used in the collection of ICT statistics from operators, as well as indicators on ICT access and use by households and individuals collected through household surveys. The workshop covered the new indicators that used to calculate the IDI, agreed during the Extraordinary Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecom/ICT Indicators (EGTI) and Expert Group on Household ICT Indicators (EGH).​​
