ITU’s 150th Anniversary: "Activities of the ITU"

On the occasion of ITU’s 150th Anniversary, the ITU Americas Regional Office organized an event on "activities of the ITU" in collaboration with the Brazilian Administration, National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL).

The event, which was focused on surveillance issues, took place at ANATEL Regional Office in Rio de Janeiro, on 23 February 2015, and was attended by 45 representatives from ANATEL . The ITU Americas Regional Director, Mr. Bruno Ramos, made a motivating presentation about the knowledge he acquired in the telecommunication sector and the opportunities to participate in ITU's activities, through the Brazilian Communications Commissions - CBCs.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and demonstrate their high level of satisfaction with the presentation.

Information on ITU activities, provided by the Regional Director for the ITU Americas, Mr. Bruno Ramos, to the experts from Anatel Regional Management in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, 23 February, helped them to see further possibilities of work, in addition to valuing the experience gained in daily practice in the telecommunications sector, with supervision of companies, relationship with consumers, preparation of telecommunications for big events like the World Cup and Olympics Games.
In the year that ITU celebrates its 150 years, the promotion of its activities to Anatel team who works in regional offices is essential to encourage the participation of these professionals, in order to effectively contribute to the work of the ITU.
