REPORT

  6th International Scientific and Technical Conference of students, post-graduates and young specialist of CIS countries 

"Communications technique and technology",

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 9-10 October 2008

 

 

XXI century was recognized as the epoch of information technologies and their global spread, since rapid evolution of the mankind as a whole is impossible without development and introduction of new communication technologies.

That is why much attention is now paid to the development of ICT sector.

I this context organization of international scientific and technical conferences is significant. The objective of such conferences is not only to demonstrate new IT developments, but also to provide a forum for the sharing the experience accumulated by representatives of various countries.

6th International Scientific and Technical Conference of students, post-graduates and young specialist of CIS countries "Communications technique and technology" held in Tahskent, Uzbekistan, from 9 to 10 October 2008, has become one of such events. The Conference gathered together over 150 young specialists from nine CIS countries ( Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan).

 

The following agencies took part in the organization of the conference:

- Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan;

- ITU Area Office for CIS;

- Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC);

- Scientific-and-Technical Society or Radio Engineering, Electronics and Communications of Uzbekistan;

- Tashkent University of Information Technologies;

- Uzbek Regional Branch Office of the Institute on Electrical Engineering and Electronics (IEEE).

  

Opening of the Conference featured the welcoming address by Mr. S.S. Kasymov,  Rector of Tashkent University of Information Technologies, who pointed out great importance of organization of international conference for the development of sciences and relations between various countries.

  

Next report was made by the Deputy Director General of Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan Mr. Kh.A. Mukhitdinov, who informed the participants about general state of ICT development in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of key organizations of ICT Sector of Uzbekistan covered some current problems of telecommunications evolution:

- Mr Yu.K. Kamalov (Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan) reported on development prospects of broadband access technologies;

- information on the state and development of telecommunication network of Uzbektelecom was presented by Mr Zh.T. Makhsoudov (Uzbektelecom); and

- presentation on functionalities of distribution network components and resource management was delivered by Mr. N.B. Usmanov (TUIT).

The final report at the plenary meeting was made by Mr O.Zh. Kaiykov – Head of the ITU Area Office for CIS, who outlined not only main features of telecommunications development in CIS countries, but also development and introduction prospects of new information technologies in CIS countries.

After the plenary the work of the Conference went on within the Sections on the following subjects:

 

Section 1 – Communications theory, networks and systems;

Section 2 – Radio and television;

Section 3 – Organization and technologies of postal communication;

Section 4 – Modern elemental base;

Section 5 – Information technologies and information protection;

Section 6 – Communications economy, organization, management and training 

 

Altogether 103 reports were listened to within the framework of the Conference. Apart from that each Section featured poster papers (over 70 poster papers were displayed during the Conference)

 

Activities of the Sections continued during the second day of the Conference. At the final plenary session the winners of the Conference were announced and awarded.

During the final plenary meeting Mr. Kasymov, Rector of TUIT, Mr. Kaiykov, Head of the ITU Area Office for CIS, and Ms Yazlovetsky, magister of Technical University of Moldova, addressed the participants and organizers with words of appreciation and gratitude.
