HIPCAR Project - Second Stakeholder Consultation and Capacity Building Workshop on the Interception of Communications Legislative Framework
5-6 April 2011 (Castries, Saint Lucia)

The Second HIPCAR Stakeholder Consultation Workshop to adopt and validate the Interception of Communications Legislative Framework was held in Castries, Saint Lucia (5 April 2011), followed by a Capacity-building / Sensitization Training Workshop , kindly hosted by the Government of Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Communications, Works, Transport and Public Utilities and co-organized with the HIPCAR Project. 

The objectives of the Consultation Workshop are to review, adopt and validate the proposals for reform of the aforementioned framework to facilitate harmonization in accordance with the HIPCAR Model Policy Guidelines and Legislative Text.

The Capacity-building / Sensitization Training Workshop is aimed to raise awareness of the updated legal framework and ensure that roles and responsibilities are clearly articulated for those involved in implementing the Act as well as on subjects selected amongst those covered by the updated legal framework.

Who Can Participate

The workshop is addressed to relevant Governmental Ministries and Agencies, Regulators, Private Sector Companies, Law Enforcement, and other stakeholders from relevant associations, academia, regional organizations, general public, etc. concerned with the Interception of Communications Legislative Framework in Saint Lucia, a HIPCAR beneficiary country.
