on “Network Cost Modelling for Countries in the Caribbean Region”

The
Workshop
This training workshop “Network Cost Modelling for Countries in the
Caribbean Region” is organized jointly by the Telecommunication
Development Bureau of the ITU and the Telecommunications Policy and
Management Programme, Mona School of Business, University of West Indies,
Kingston - one of the Nodes of the ITU Centres of Excellence Network for
the Caribbean region.
The event is to be held in Kingston, Jamaica from 4-8 October 2010.
This training workshop is a five-day expert level workshop, which seeks
to analyze in detail the advantages and disadvantages of different cost
models, including their implications for the calculation of cost-based
tariffs for regulated retail and wholesale services and the challenges
of data collection.

Who can participate
The
training workshop will be conducted on a highly participative basis and
is addressed to professionals working in the finance sectors of
regulatory authorities, government and telecommunication operators. This
workshop is particularly suited for personnel involved in the
calculation of cost-based tariffs for regulated retail and wholesale
services.
The HIPCAR Project supports, subject to available budget, designated
participants
from
relevant government bodies, regulators, and regional organizations
from the
following HIPCAR beneficiary countries: Antigua and Barbuda, The
Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, The Commonwealth of Dominica, Dominican
Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St.
Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and
Tobago.
