Training of Trainers on ICT Statistics

The “Training of Trainers on ICT Statistics”, took place from 4-8 March 2013 in Valencia, Spain. The training was co-organized with UNCTAD, was hosted by DEVSTAT and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. ITU covered the sessions on measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals. The training was delivered to selected Arab, Russian and Spanish-speaking participants, on ICT indicators definition, compilation and dissemination. The participants that attended the training are expected to deliver future trainings on ICT statistics to be organized by ITU and UNCTAD in countries/regions where those languages are spoken.

A similar “Training of Trainers on ICT Statistics” for English and French-speaking participants was organized by ITU and UNCTAD in 2009. This training is part of ITU’s efforts to assist Member States in the area of ICT measurement and is based on the ITU “Manual for Measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals”, which was published at the end of February 2009.
