Any person coming to South Africa must be able, at all times, to produce a valid travel document allowing the bearer to enter the country. Participants attending ITU
TELECOM
AFRICA 2001 who are required to obtain an entry visa for South Africa, must make the necessary arrangements well in advance of their departure. They should ensure that their visa is valid for a sufficient duration.

List of countries where South Africa is not represented:
Afghanistan, Antigua & Barbuda, Bhutan, Burundi, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Dominican Republic, Gambia, Iraq, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Applicants from countries where there is no South African Embassy are advised to contact the South African Representation in the nearest country.
Please note that holders of official or diplomatic passports who are residing in countries where South Africa has no representation should send their applications to the Director-General, Foreign Affairs, Private Bag x152, Pretoria 001, South Africa.
Visas cannot be applied for at South African ports of entry.
Should a visa be needed, a letter of invitation to attend ITU TELECOM
AFRICA 2001 may be requested in writing from:

Please include in the request your name, (title, company), street address, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers. This letter of invitation will be sent to the applicant by fax for submission to the South African Consulate or Embassy. ITU
TELECOM will also send this letter of invitation directly by fax to the South African Consulate or Embassy.
