The
mobile services in South Africa are
based on 900 MHz GSM technology.
Foreign visitors, wishing to use
their own mobile phone at the venue,
may check for compliance with this
technology and if roaming is allowed
between their mobile operator and
one of the South Africa operators:
MTN or Vodacom.
Both of the mobile operator proposes phone rental and mobile subscription with pre-paid phone cards. Shops can be found at the Johannesburg airport.

Telephones plugs in hotels are, in general, RJ11 plugs.
