The metaverse is an integrated virtual ecosystem in which users can have multiple identities. This is made possible by advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging web, blockchain, Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR), and Internet of Things (IoT). However, the convergence of these technologies raises critical concerns around safety, security, and privacy concerns. These issues, alongside other unforeseen challenges, emphasise the importance of trust in the metaverse. Therefore, trustworthiness is a key consideration in its development. The aim of this draft Recommendation is to develop a framework for trustworthy metaverse infrastructure. In particular, it focuses on the key elements and requirements of such infrastructure and specifies the technical enablers needed to support it.
