This Recommendation specifies test methods and performance objectives of hands-free terminals, whatever the applications or technologies integrated. It defines basic parameters for determination of generic transmission characteristic (sensitivity values, response curves, etc.) and which have a bearing on conversation quality (switching performance, echo performance, double-talk performance, etc.). It also defines further advanced parameters measured under realistic conditions with several participants (switching performance, speech quality etc.). For testing, test setups and recommended environmental conditions are described. This Recommendation deals with the characteristics of the signal-processing equipment like, e.g., acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) that is typically integrated in hands-free terminals.
