Multimedia data is characterized by its large volume, diverse types, and strong real-time requirements, which poses higher demands on data storage, management, and processing. Traditional data management solutions face numerous challenges when dealing with large-scale, multi-source, and heterogeneous multimedia data, such as high storage and computing cost, complex multimedia data structures, low unstructured data processing efficiency, and insufficient data security and privacy protection. The data matrix integrates massive heterogeneous multimedia data, and facilitates data and resource sharing.. It is designed to establish an efficient, trusted, secure, and manageable infrastructure for data sharing, exchange and transactions between data providers (such as data producers and owners) and data consumers (such as data users). The data matrix for multimedia services offers significant advantages in managing multimedia data by providing multi-source data integration, reliable stakeholder matching, efficient storage solutions, and intelligent management tools. Therefore, it is important and valuable to identify the requirements for data matrix for multimedia services, especially in the functional aspects. This Recommendation specifies data matrix for multimedia services, and provides relevant characteristics, reference framework, functional requirements and use cases of data matrix for multimedia services, so as to promote the multimedia services is controllable, manageable, and efficient.
