This Recommendation provides a framework for out-of-band physical access control systems using beacon-based dynamic authentication information, enabling users to authenticate and use physical facilities in a safe and trustworthy manner coupled with the biometric authentication on their smartphone. It defines the procedures of out-of-band physical access control system, where users use physical facilities to receive beacon-based dynamic authentication information on their smartphones, verify facility information, and then perform the approval operated on their smartphones. Additionally, it identifies potential security threats associated with these systems and the corresponding security requirements.
