SESSION 1: Real-time conferencing / conversation
Chairman: Pierre-André Probst (SG16 Chairman) [ BIO ]
Objectives:This session focuses on the question whether with the emergence of the Next Generation
Network (NGN) there will be a 3rd generation of ITU-T defined Multimedia Systems and Terminals
(dubbed H.325). And if so, how it would look like. A key point to discuss will be whether such
new generation system would use the "aging" H.323 and SIP protocols, or would define and use a
completely new protocol stack?

SESSION 1 continued:
Objectives:A lot of new, interesting multimedia communication development is happening
currently on the internet. Some of them are based on specifications developed by SDOs and Forums;
others are "de-facto" standard based on successful applications. This session will introduce and
discuss about them.
