This forum will be hosted by and held at the O.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications (ONAT).


 

Brief on the event  
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in cooperation with the State Administration of Communications of Ukraine and the O.S. Popov Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications (O.S.Popov ONAT) is organizing a seminar "Integrated aspects of child protection over the Internet”, which was held in Odessa, Ukraine from 6 to 8 April, 2011.

The seminar is designed for representatives of international organizations, public authorities, ISPs, educational institutions, and other organizations interested in enhancing child online protection.

 

The seminar considered the following issues among many:

  • the role of international organizations and the state in protecting children from negative information available on Internet;
  • legal measures to ensure child online protection;
  • use of content filtering solutions to restrict access to information that is harmful to children and youth, while ensuring free access to useful information;
  • the role of Internet service providers in children online protection;
  • technical aspects of child safety in the Internet;

The seminar has been conducted in Russian and English with simultaneous interpretation.
