The ITU Association of Japan

The ITU Association of Japan (ITU-AJ) was founded on September 1, 1971 to coordinate Japanese activities in telecommunication and broadcasting sectors with international activities. Since then, ITU-AJ has been conducting cooperation/coordination works for international organizations including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).The ITU-AJ, as its regular activities, organizes Study Meetings on Basic Matters for the ITU, ITU-T(Telecommunication standardization Sector), ITU-R (Radiocommunication Sector) and Digital Opportunities. In 1993, ITU-AJ joined the ITU's Development Sector (ITU-D).

Mr Michiaki Ogasawara
Mr Ogasawara is the president of the ITU Association of Japan since December 2013, and has served as Vice-Minister for Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
