I am currently research director at INRIA (National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control). I did all my research career after an engineer (Telecom) completed at Harvard University, at a time (1969-1972) when the computer was still underdeveloped in France. I have worked in various fields of conventional computing: design and implementation of programming languages and programming environments, software engineering, computer memory management techniques. More recently I was interested in natural language processing, for which I could generalize the analysis techniques I had originally developed for programming languages.

Research Topics:

Our research activities focus on distributed adaptive software. These software generally consists of several software entities of ineracting distributed, must undergo various modifications (to architectural and behavioral levels) during their execution to meet new user requirements or changes in context of execution. The new requirements introduce a complexity resulting from the interaction between the distributed software entities abundant and the dynamics of their software architecture. The strong presence of the software in several critical areas, such as the financial sector,
