Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association

The Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) is a non-profit organisation formed to represent the interests of small island nations in the Pacific Region in the field of telecommunications. The objective of the association is to improve, promote, enhance, facilitate and provide telecommunications services within Member and Associate Member Countries. PITA Members are telecommunication entities in Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia, Australia and New Zealand. Associate Members are suppliers of telecommunication equipment and services. Partner agencies are regional and international organisations with vested interest in telecommunications and its development. Telecom Regulatory body from government has a special membership category.

Mr. Ivan Fong

Ivan Fong is the President of the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association. Ivan is also the Acting General Manager of Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited, a telecommunications investment company listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Fiji Limited, the fixed line provider in Fiji and has worked across a wide spectrum of the telecommunications business over the last 18 years including corporate strategy, regulatory, wholesale, marketing and network engineering.

Ivan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Masters in Business Administration from Deakin University.
