Institut Mines-Télécom is a public institution dedicated to higher education, research and innovation in engineering and digital technologies. The institution is under the authority of the Minister for Industry and Electronic Communication. Always attentive to the economic world, it combines strong academic legitimacy, close corporate relations and a unique focus on 4 key transformations of the 21st century in Digital Technologies, Energy, Ecology and Production. Its activities are conducted in ten Mines and Télécom graduate schools. The schools of Institut Mines-Télécom are listed amongst the leading Grandes Ecoles in France. Geared towards economic stakeholders, the activities of the institution involve research, innovation and education for engineers, managers, specialists and professors, and are acknowledged for their excellence at both national and international level. Institut Mines-Télécom is active within national research programming partnerships between Allistene, Aviesan and Athena. Furthermore, the quality and depth of its partnership research has been recognized with two Carnot Institute labels awarded since 2006, and renewed in 2011. Each year, approximately one hundred start-up companies are formed from the incubators of the schools.
