Mr. Northland served asChief Executive Officer of Satmex Escrow, S.A. de C.V. He served as the ChiefExecutive Officer of AT&T Latin America Corp. since August 28, 2000. Heserved as President ... and Chief Executive Officer of FirstCom Corporation from November1996 to August 2000. He held key management positions with PanamSat andIntelSat. In 1991, he founded AmericaTel Corporation. In 1993, Mr. Northlandsuccessfully completed a joint venture agreement between AmericaTel and Entel,Chile's major long distance carrier. Under his leadership, AmericaTelCorporation grew to provide satellite-based voice, data and faxtelecommunications services to corporate customers in several Latin Americannations. He has over 17 years of experience as an international communicationsexecutive and entrepreneur. He served as Chairman of the Board of AT&TLatin America Corp. since August 28, 2000 and serves as its Director. He servedas Chairman of FirstCom Corporation from November 1996 to August 2000 andserved as its Director. Mr. Northland holds an engineering degree from theUniversity of Chile, a master's degree in communications from George WashingtonUniversity, and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
