Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG;), also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council, (GCC) is a political and economic union of the Arab states bordering the Persian Gulf and constituting the Arabian Peninsula, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. On May 10, 2011, a request by Jordan to join the GCC was formally being considered and Morocco was invited to join the council. The GCC Charter states that the basic objectives are to effect coordination, integration and inter-connection between Member States in different fields.
