The Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT) is a non-profit organization affiliated to the Ministry of Scientific Research, established in September 1971 by the Presidential Decree No 2405 as the national authority responsible for science & technology in Egypt. In 1998, ASRT was reorganized by the Presidential Decree No 377 that defined its mission, function and activities.
ASRT is the Egyptian house of expertise. It brings together outstanding Egyptian scientists and experts from universities, research institutions, private sector, NGOs, policymakers and prominent Egyptian scientists in Diaspora to deliberate country problems, propose and carry out scientific studies and future strategic basic plans to tackle these problems.

Anglia Ruskin’s story starts in 1858, when the art critic, patron and philanthropist John Ruskin opened Cambridge School of Art. The art school grew to become Anglia Ruskin University, and it’s still at the heart of our modern-day campus in Cambridge. Over the years, a number of colleges and institutes have become part of Anglia Ruskin. They include the Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology (CCAT) and the Essex Institute of Higher Education (formerly the Chelmer Institute – itself formed from the Mid-Essex Technical College and the Brentwood College of Education). At first, these colleges combined to become Anglia Polytechnic, and then Anglia Polytechnic University in 1992. We’ve been known as Anglia Ruskin University since 2005. Azerbaijan Technical University (AZTU) is a public university, specialized in engineering, located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Child Helpline International supports the creation and strengthening of national, free of cost child helplines worldwide, and uses child helpline data and knowledge to highlight gaps in child protection systems and advocate for the rights of children.
Chongqing University (CQU) is a key national university in China, directly under the State Ministry of Education, it is also one of the "211 Project and 985 Project” universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local Government of China. CQU is located in Shapingba District, a cultural and educational center in the city of Chongqing, a major municipality of industry and commerce in the Southwest of China, an economic center on the upper reaches of Yangtze River. Founded in 1929, Chongqing University had become a national comprehensive university consisting of six colleges in liberal arts, science, engineering, law science and medical science early in 1940s, thus earned a prestige both domestic and abroad then for its outstanding performance in education. King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) founded Yantara Suksa School of King Chulalongkorn's Civil Service School on June 1, 1913. Chulalongkorn University was later established by merging the Civil Service School and the Medical School, and Yantara Suksa School became the Faculty of Engineering. The faculty originally provided three-year education in engineering, which led to Diplomas in Engineering. In the 1930's three departments-Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering-were established and the university conferred its first Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1935. The Master of Engineering degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering were first offered in 1941, but were temporarily suspended during World War II, and were resumed in 1954. The faculty continued to expand to cover wider range of engineering disciplines: Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering in (1943), Sanitary Engineering (1953), and Survey Engineering (1955). During 1959-1971, the faculty hosted the SEATO Graduate School of Engineering, which later became the Asian Institute of Technology and was moved to Rangsit, Pathum Thani Province. 1917 - Russian Emperor issued the order, according to which was set up Polytechnic Institute in Tbilisi, the first Higher Educational Institution in Caucasian region. 1922 - Was founded as a polytechnic faculty of Tbilisi State University. 1928 - The Departments of the polytechnic faculty merged into an independent Institute and named Georgian Polytechnic Institute (GPI). In the 70’s - The Institute consisted of 15 full-time and 13 part-time faculties. 1985 – 1987 - For the volume of the advanced scientific researches and works carried out by the students, Polytechnical Institute took first place in the USSR higher educational institutions. The Institute of Acoustics (IOA) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was established in 1964 as a spinoff of the CAS Institute of Electronics in response to the nation’s strategic need for acoustic research. TeCIP Institute The Institute of Communication, lnformation and Perception Technologies (TeCIP), was established in 2001 as a Center of Excellence by the Italian University Education Ministry. It provides research and training related to information, communication, and perception technologies, focusing on computer applications and computer systems for embedded real-time systems; sensor networks; the study, design and construction of communication networks with partial or total use of photonic technologies; the use of photonic technologies in sensors and in biophotonics; and virtual environments and robotic systems as interfaces for the study of human-computer interactions and human perception.
The main aims of the institute are:
- promote research, including interdisciplinary, scientific and technological research of the highest quality, by attracting new resources and by increasingly asserting their role and identity both within Italy and internationally;

The Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereafter ICT) was founded in 1956. It is the first academic establishment to specialize in comprehensive research on computer science and technology in China. The ICT has successfully built China’s first general-purpose digital computer and now has turned itself into an R&D base for high-performance computer technology. It is also the place where China’s first general-purpose CPU chip was born.
The ICT is the cradle for China’s computer undertaking. With its advent and growth, the ICT has nurtured hundreds of earliest computer professionals in China, more than 20 academicians are working or used to work or to study here. The establishment of the Lodz University of Technology is strictly associated with the history and development of the industrial Lodz. Thanks to incredibly fast development of textile industry in the second half of the 19thcentury Lodz became the second largest city in the area of Poland. This situation required highly qualified employees, namely graduates of higher technical schools. A long battle of establishing a technical university inLodz began. The first actions were taken after the fall of the January Uprising. Appointing a Polytechnic Institute in Lodz was planned. The initiative case was piloted by the General Director of the Government Committee for Public Enlightenment – Witte. The courses were supposed to begin in 1865. Some area within the city was donated to the future university, verdict of the competition for design of the university building was announced, temporary rooms hired and professors recruited. Works on equipping the Institute with teaching aids, machines and books were in progress. A draft of The Act on the Institute was prepared, the final version of The Act was sent to the Tsar for signature on 13 July 1866. Unfortunately the Tsar did not accept the idea of establishing the Polytechnic Institute.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is a leading Russian university that trains students in various fields of modern science and technology. MIPT was set up on September 17, 1951 by Resolution#3517-1635 of the Soviet Cabinet of Ministers on the basis of the Department of Physics and Technology at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The department started working on November 25, 1946. On October 1, 1951, the resolution was approvedby executive order of the Soviet Education Ministry. The history of the University began in 1921 when the Moscow Institute of Electrical Engineering and National Communication (MIEENC) was set up. By the decree of the Russian Federation Government in 1992 the MIC was transformed into the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI). On the 11th of February, 2011 the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) celebrated its 90th anniversary. Among dozens of thousands of its graduates there are well- known scientists and specialists, outstanding state and public figures of Russia and many countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
In 1996 the government of Malaysia was looking for methods to liberalise higher education in the nation, and to involve the private education sector in the development of this critical sector of human capital building. As such, the Ministry of Education was looking for an established private company to kick off the pilot project for university building. In October 1996, the then Telekom Malaysia was given the distinction by the Ministry of Education to set up the first private university in Malaysia. It was considered an honour to be given such trust by the government to spearhead the privatization of higher education. Being a natural extension of the existing ITTM campuses that TM already runs, TM accepted the invitation and Universiti Telekom was established in Melaka. A year later, with the planning of the MSC underway, the government was once again looking for a suitable candidate to construct a university in the heart of the MSC. The idea behind this university is to emulate the Stanford-Silicon Valley example, where a centre of teaching and research catalyzed the development of high tech industry in the surrounding area. With a glorious tradition, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications has made remarkable contributions to the establishment and development of the People’s Republic of China. Its predecessor was Wartime Postal Administration Cadre Training Class of Shandong Anti-Japanese Base, which was established in 1942 and was one of the earliest schools of our Party and army for systematically training telecommunication talents. National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) is an incorporated administrative agency, was established by merging the Communications Research Laboratory (CRL), an incorporated administrative agency and the Telecommunications Advancement Organization (TAO). It is located at Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. NICT was established in 2004 when Japan's Communications Research Laboratory (established 1896) merged with the Telecommunications Advancement Organization. Today NICT's mission is to carry out research and development in the field of information and communications technology. It has a range of responsibilities including generating and disseminating Japan's national frequency and time standards; conducting type approval tests of radio equipment for the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) and marine radar based on Japan's Radio Law; and providing regular observations of the ionosphere and space weather.
The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is a centre for research in public economics and policies. Founded in 1976, the institute undertakes research, policy advocacy and capacity building in areas related to public economics. One of the major mandates of the institute is to assist the Central, State and Local governments in formulating and reforming public policies by providing an analytical base. The institute was set up as an autonomous society, at the joint initiative of the Ministry of Finance, Planning Commission, several State governments and distinguished academicians. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The NRCCL was one of the first academic institutions to take up the challenges posed by information and communication technology (ICT) to law and legal research. In 1970, Professor Knut S Selmer asked his then newly appointed research assistant Jon Bing to look into the issue of “computers and law”. The first result was a seminar arranged on 16 March 1970, which the NRCCL has since set as its date of birth. The seminar resulted in various requests for research on the interaction of ICT and law – and the Department of Private Law created the NRCCL as a framework for this research.
Despite its title, the NRCCL has always been internationally oriented and actively engaged in numerous international projects and events. The NRCCL also formally cooperates with a large number of sister institutions around the globe.
Today, the NRCCL is established as one of the world's leading academic institutions in the field of ICT law. It has cutting-edge expertise in all major areas of the field. Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsinghua Xuetang”. The school was renamed "Tsinghua School" in 1912. The university section was founded in 1925. The name “National Tsinghua University” was adopted in 1928. The faculty greatly valued the interaction between Chinese and Western cultures, the sciences and humanities, the ancient and modern. Established in 1969, University Sains Malaysia (USM) was first known as the University of Penang. The university offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. USM main campus is located within a tropical island of Penang, Malaysia. There are two USM branch campuses, one at Kubang Kerian in Kelantan and the other at Nibong Tebal. The USM offers educational and research opportunities to both students and staff. In addition, USM also provides consultancy, testing, and advisory services to industry.
The University College of Bahrain (herein referred to as “UCB”) was founded in 2002 by Dr. Khalid Al-Khalifa.
UCB is licensed by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a provider of higher education. UCB is a new and private university designed to provide an international teaching and learning experience entirely conducted in the English language, particularly specializing in Business Administration, Communication and Information Technology (IT).
UCB provides a rigorous curriculum (based on a semester credit hour system) in the American liberal arts tradition. Many students are drawn from the Gulf Region with about 55% female intake and an aggressive and ambitious development program is in place to grow student numbers and facilities over the next 10 years. UCB is located in its own self-contained and walled purpose-built campus in Saar. To date, UCB has graduated over 700 students from its Undergraduate and Postgraduate business and other programs. These alumni are now active members of their business communities.

Webforce International Federation is a UN-NGO (Non Governmental Organisation) operating under Swiss law in special consultative status with the ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council of the United Nations) and as a member of the D sector of the ITU (International Telecommunications Union). It is probably the most active NGO in the fields of communication and telecommunications. We have taken a highly active part in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) since 2001.

Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University is a prestigious institution of higher education with a long history. Qiushi Academy, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897 and was one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China. In 1928, the academy was named National Zhejiang University. During the war time in 1940s, Zhejiang University moved to Zunyi, Meitan and other places in succession and stayed in West China for seven years. In 1946, Zhejiang University returned to Hangzhou. In 1952, due to a nationwide restructuring of universities, Zhejiang University underwent a reshuffling of disciplines. Some departments merged into other universities and Chinese Academy of Sciences. The remaining departments were divided and developed to become 4 specialized higher education institutions, namely former Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. In 1998, the four universities sharing the same ancestor merged to form the new Zhejiang University and set a new goal – to develop into a world-class university.
