Top speakers from
global ICT policy community to meet in
Egypt to debate tomorrow’s tech opportunities and challenges
Geneva, 11 April
2016 – Leading
technologists and policy experts from industry, ICT regulators, government and
the global ‘ICT for development’ community will meet in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt,
next month to discuss how to best harness new developments in the fast-changing
information and communication technology sector.
ITU’s annual
Global Symposium for Regulators (11-14 May), widely
recognized as the world’s pre-eminent gathering of the global telecoms
regulatory community, will feature compelling debates on a wide range of topical
issues, including:

Artificial intelligence, smart
sensors & smart networks

The
‘Internet of Things’ and M2M communications

Privacy, trust and cybersecurity
-
Digital entrepreneurship
On 11 May a special pre-event
Global Dialogue on Digital Financial Inclusion,
organized by ITU in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the
Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), the Government of Egypt and other
partners, will look at the
enormous development potential of bringing access to banking services to the
estimated two billion
‘unbanked’ people
worldwide.
