MEDIA ACCREDITATION OPEN – ACCREDIT NOW

Geneva, 7 April 2016 – Ambassador Daniel A. Sepulveda, Deputy Assistant Secretary with the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs at the US Department of State, has been named Chairman-designate of the forthcoming World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum event, which will take place from 2-6 May.

The event is expected to attract over 1,500+ international delegates from around the world, including an estimated 70-plus government ministers. The annual event is the world’s largest multi-stakeholder gathering of the ‘ICT for development’ community.

This year’s forum will examine sustainable development trends and inclusive ICT initiatives in Sustainable Development Goal priority areas such as health, education, gender empowerment and the environment. The preliminary agenda is now online.

The event will be complemented by a special edition of TEDx Geneva entitled New Horizons, which will look at ways in which advances in technology, entertainment and design will profoundly transform our lives. Journalists wishing to attend this TEDx Geneva: New Horizons event are invited to RSVP to Chloé Khoury to ensure they benefit from reserved seating in the main auditorium: chloe.khoury@itu.int.
