Telecom World 2015 Opening Press Conference, Sunday 11 October
Explore key issues around accelerating ICT innovation for social impact
Geneva, 8 October 2015 – Accredited

World
2015
(Budapest, 12-15 October) are invited to attend the Opening Press Conference,
which will be held at the Hungarian Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade at 15:30 on Sunday 11 October 2015.
Speakers include ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao, Hungary’s Minister of
Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, and Minister for National
Development, Miklós Seszták, who will be joined by Gordon Graylish, VP Sales and
Marketing, Intel Corporation and Mark Li, General Manager, Hakko Opto. The press
conference will also give media a sneak preview of the exciting programme of
events taking place at HUNGEXPO during the week to come.
Organized by ITU, the United Nations specialized agency for ICTs, ITU Telecom
World 2015 is hosted by the Government of Hungary. It will bring together an
influential audience spanning key policy makers,
regulators, industry experts, investors, SMEs, entrepreneurs and innovators.
The event is an Exhibition for
digital solutions, a Forum for
sharing knowledge and a
Networking hub for
governments, industry and academia. Its aim is to help ideas go further, faster,
and to promote the innovative, transformative ICT-enabled solutions that will
make the world better, sooner.
Through an interactive
programme of debates,
the Forum will tackle central issues affecting the ICT ecosystem today, opening
with a top-level Leadership Summit on accelerating
digital innovation for social impact.
Discussions comprise panel debates, workshops, high-level round tables and
keynotes.

The Exhibition features digital solutions from emerging and developed markets,
showcasing the smartest ideas and entrepreneurial spirit of start-ups from
countries, regions and top industry names from across the world.
A host of key
networking opportunities
include activities enabling delegates to engage on a B2B or B2G level, such as
the Industry & SME and Government & SME Dialogues & Lunches, bringing
together government, industry and SMEs, plus a new
awards programme
for the most innovative start-ups, micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses
participating at ITU Telecom World 2015.

Journalists wishing to attend ITU Telecom World 2015 must be formally
accredited.
UN Press accreditation is valid, but
registration is required
to obtain an event badge.
Journalists and analysts who have formally accredited for ITU events in 2015 and
whose details have not changed during this period do not need to re-submit
accreditation credentials, but still need to register for an event badge.
Accreditation and registration for ITU Telecom World 2015 in advance is highly
recommended to avoid queues and delays onsite.
