Global ICT leaders to share insights at ITU Telecom
World 2015
Leadership Summit to focus on accelerating ICT innovation for social impact

Geneva, 30 September 2015 – The rapid pace of digital
transformation is creating new ecosystems, players and even industries – all
holding tremendous potential. But how can this potential be harnessed for the
benefit of all? And what should the top-level priorities be? An outstanding
line-up of speakers spanning government, industry, entrepreneurs and innovators
at the ITU Telecom World 2015 Leadership Summit on 12 and 13 October will debate
how best to accelerate ICT innovation, open up the digital economy to all the
world’s citizens, and work together to enable digital entrepreneurship as a

currently unconnected, to recognizing and fostering the contribution of SMEs in
driving technical and economic innovation and the establishment of digital
single markets,“ said ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao. “As well as sharing
their unique insights, the final session of the Summit will see the launch of
the Budapest call for action – a global pledge underlining Ministers’ commitment
to growing digital entrepreneurship, accelerating socio-economic development,
and driving real change.”

ITU Telecom World 2015, the global ICT innovation event, is an Exhibition for
digital solutions, a Forum for
sharing knowledge and a

hub for governments, industry- from established players to brand
new start-ups – and academia. Its aim is to help ideas go further, faster and to
promote the innovative, transformative ICT-enabled solutions that will make the
world better, sooner.
Note: Media
accreditation for ITU Telecom World 2015, 12-15 October 2015,
enabling free access to the event for registered media and analysts is open.
Accreditation is compulsory. UN Press accreditation is valid, but registration
is required to obtain an event badge. Journalists and analysts who have formally
accredited for ITU events in 2015 and whose details have not changed during this
period do not need to re-submit accreditation credentials, but still need to
register for an event badge.
Accreditation and registration for ITU Telecom World 2015 in advance is
highly recommended to avoid queues and delays onsite.
