European Commission VP Neelie Kroes, top speakers from
government and industry to open
ITU’s Global Symposium for Regulators in Warsaw
Geneva, 12 June, 2013 – With
only one month to go, journalists are encouraged accredit now to attend ITU’s
annual Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-13), the world’s pre-eminent
gathering of the global ICT regulatory and policy-making community.
To be held at the Warsaw Hilton at the invitation of Poland’s Office of
Electronic Communications (UKE), the opening debate on Wednesday 3 July,
Building the Future Digital Society, features top-name speakers including
Poland’s Minister of Administration and Digitization, Michal Boni; European
Commission Vice-President, Neelie Kroes; Acting Chairwoman of the FCC, Mignon
Clyburn; Director-General of the GSMA, Anne Bouverot; Deputy CEO of Orange,
Pierre Louette; and other key industry and government leaders.
The debate will be preceded by a message from Polish President Bronislaw
Komorowski and keynote speeches from ITU Secretary-General, Dr Hamadoun Touré,
and UKE President and GSR-13 Chair, Magdalena Gaj.
This important international event is open to the media on Wednesday, 3 July
from 09:00 - 12 noon, followed by a press conference with leading
participants at 12:45. The remainder of the event is open to registered
delegates only.
With only three weeks to go until the close of accreditation, journalists are
urged to confirm their attendance online as soon as possible. Formal
accreditation prior to the event is essential to gain access to the venue.
Please note that accreditation will close on Friday 28 June and that there will
be no accreditation onsite.
