ITU Telecom events provide a unique networking platform for leaders from government and industry, innovators, researchers and other key stakeholders to connect, collaborate and create solutions to worldwide challenges through knowledge transfer and exchange of ideas. Participants in ITU Telecom events lead change, map the future of the ICT industry and make decisions with significant global impact.
Starting out as a service to ITU members, the first ITU Telecom in 1971 combined an exhibition of latest, best-in-class equipment with a forum designed to help participants anticipate industry trends. In commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of ITU Telecom events in 2011, and in recognition of the tremendous pace of change in the industry, in technology and in society at large over these four decades, ITU Telecom World 2011 has been strategically redesigned to focus on networking, knowledge-sharing and the collaborative search for real-life solutions to real-world issues affecting global citizens everywhere – whilst retaining its unique role as a facilitator of debate at the highest level between government, private industry, investment and regulatory communities.
ITU Telecom World 2011 takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 24 -27 October 2011.
