Approved 2012-07 for immediate release

 

Joint Call for Proposals on Scalable Video Coding Extensions of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)

A new generation of video compression technology known as High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) that has substantially higher compression capability than the existing AVC (ITU-T H.264 | ISO/IEC 14496-10) standard is being developed jointly by ISO/IEC MPEG and ITU-T WP3/16. This joint Call for Proposals is targeting at scalable extensions of that standard, and the text can be found here.

Companies and organizations are invited to submit proposals in response to this Call.
