The ITU-T Media Coding Summary Table is a simple database recording all approved and work-in-progress media coding Recommendations from ITU, with the key operating parameters for each of the audio, video, character, graphics, and still image specifications. The database also lists codecs defined by other standards development organizations as well as some non-standardized codecs currently in use.
Such a database helps to illustrate areas where future media coding work may be needed, and areas of possible overlap.
