TSB Director's Ad Hoc Group on IPR

The TSB Director's Ad Hoc Group on IPR is responsible for studies relating to:

Patent Policy and its guidelines for implementation,
Software Copyright guidelines,
Marks guidelines

and their associated issues (See Terms of Reference).

Participation is open to Member States and ITU-T Sector Members. Other relevant entities or persons may be invited by the TSB Director, in particular to present any contributions to the Group.

Highlights from last meeting (2-3 December 2010)

Item 1 Patent Guidelines

The IPR AHG reached consensus on proposed modifications to the Guidelines for implementation of the Common Patent Policy for ITU-T/ITU-R/ISO/IEC. An updated version of these Guidelines has been submitted to the WSC Patent Task Force for review and consideration by the respective organizations.

Item 2 Software Copyright Guidelines

A task group has been set-up to review and adapt the Software Copyright Guidelines to the new environment in which ITU is currently working. The objective of this task group is to finalize proposed changes to the Software Copyright Guidelines for review and consideration by the IPR AHG before the end of 2011.
