ABOUT

The ITU Policy and Economic Colloquium 2021 - ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2021 – 10 to 11 May 2021, will be held Online. This activity is organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT), in close collaboration with the Superintendency of Telecommunications (SIT) of Guatemala.

The ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2021 will include the discussion GSR Regional Regulatory Roundtable for the Americas Region and the Regional Economic Dialogue on Telecommunications/ICTs for Latin America and the Caribbean (RED). The ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2021 will also benefit from the presence of international experts involved in the work of ITU-D Study Group 1 Question 4/1 (Economic policies and methods of determining the costs of services related to national telecommunication/ICT networks) through the holding of an Experts’ Knowledge Exchange on related topics, which is open to all participants.

PURPOSE

The ITU AMERICAS IPEC 2021 will focus, among other interesting subjects, on economic policies and strategies for ICT development in the Americas Region – COVID-19 implications, incentives to foster investment and business opportunities for meaningful connectivity and Economic and financial aspects in the digital ecosystem, country cases  – in coordination with the ITU-D Study Group Question 4/1. Participants are invited to make presentations or participate as panellists to illustrate the situation in their countries on these issues, in order to promote dialogue and exchange of experiences, please contact to Rodrigo Robles (rodrigo.robles@itu.int) if you are interested in be a panellist.
