As you will see below, Geneva has plenty to offer.
The Geneva Tourist Office will provide you with a wealth of information on such things as guided and self-guided tours of the main attractions in and around the city, excursions by bus, train, lake steamer or cablecar, cultural events (theatre, music, museums...) and much more besides.
But to get you started, we have put together a few links to the main venues, based on the kind of entertainment they provide and ease of access.

Entertainment

Cinemas

The main cinemas showing films in French (VF) and in the original language (VO) are Pathé Balexert (on the first floor of the Balexert shopping centre), the Scala (23 rue des Eaux-Vives), the Rex (8 rue de la Conféderation, in the heart of the city) and the Rialto (33 boulevard James-Fazy, beside the main railway station).

Dance

Dance, both classic and contemporary, is alive and well in Geneva.
The Grand Théâtre ballet no longer limits itself to the classics and now stages numerous contemporary works.
The Contemporary Dance Association (ADC) focuses on the work and experience of young artists.

Museums

The site of the Geneva Tourist Office will provide you with a list of the city's main museums (archeology, ethnography, natural history, science, fine art, art and design, technology).

Music

The Aréna, right beside the airport, plays host to international stars, musicals and other major shows.
The Victoria Hall puts on numerous classical concerts, as does the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices and the Grand Théâtre.
The jazz scene is well represented at AMR and the Chat Noir.

Theatres

The following three English-language companies put on shows in and around Geneva:
 - Geneva English Drama Society
 - Geneva Amateur Operatic Society
 - Howard Productions

Geneva's French-language theatres include the Comédie de Genève, le Poche , the Théâtre de Carouge and the Forum Meyrin, all of which put on high-quality productions throughout the year.
